Meditation has been practised for thousands of years by people searching for spiritual enlightenment, although it is not linked to any one religion – nor does it need to be a religious practice.  Meditation is now widely accepted in the medical world as a remedy for alleviating physical and mental ailments and is now a structured practice that people use everyday as a means of achieving balance, both mentally, physically and emotionally.

Studies have proven that deep relaxation and meditation can:

  • Induce feelings of great calmness and peacefullnes
  • Reduce feelings of anxiety and mental fatigue
  • Calm the nervous system
  • Create a greater sense of well-being
  • Lower blood pressure
Renewed energy levels leaving you feeling refreshed & revitalised
  • Leave you feeling mentally refreshed leading to:
    • Greater concentration and alertness
    • Clarity of thought
    • Greater creativity
    • Improved self esteem and confidence

What a guided meditation session involves

Clients will be asked to remove their shoes, for comfort, and then invited to either lie on a Yoga mat, or sit in a chair.  Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended.   Fleecey blankets are provided for warmth and comfort along with supports and eyemasks. The session begins with an introduction to meditation, and guidance on how to ground and protect yourself during the practice.

Deep relaxation then follows,  with breathing exercises and a guide to encouraging the body to relax and release every major muscle group in turn.  This is followed by a guided meditation lasting for approximately 20 minutes followed by approximately 10 minutes of silence for your body to gain the most out of the session.

You are then gradually bought back up to full consciousness before the session ends.
